Party Recap: NYC February 2019

The NYC February party happened. Here’s my report.

Another small, fun party. Smaller than I’d hoped for and a disappointing hotel room made this not my favorite party yet, but I appreciate people showing up.

A big change for this party is I’ve figured out a way to bring some big screens to the event. It turns out LCD screens are very light and someone makes a padded case that lets me carry 2 easily. These two, plus 2 laptops, plus the hotel TV equals 5 screens going during the party.

The hotel room had a big TV, and I brought a 24" and a 32" screen plus 2 laptops. All told, I had 5 screens going. The two beds in the room were far From the TVs, so I moved them closer. This probably made the room look weird.

Problem Number 1: (there’s always a problem) The room was COLD. Freezing. I called the hotel desk and they sent someone up to fix the problem, but it didn’t warm up to a comfortable level until after the first guy arrived.
