It was 3 parties in one!

A day-time party (9am-4pm): This was our first time trying a day-time event. People have often asked for a day-time event, mostly because it can be easier to take a day off work than find an excuse to not be home at night. It did make it easier for some to attend, but the turn-out was only ok.

Most people came from Discord, were split between NJ and NY plus a few from out of state. NJ attendees were mostly North Jersey, which makes sense because the party was in northern NJ. More than half arrived by car.

Sexual orientation was split between bi (55%) curious (40%) people, with a few straight attendees. I think the straight attendees just don’t answer the survey. There were a LOT of straight people at the party.

Over-all the party was highly rated. People felt safe, comfortable, and had a great time.

The negatives were mostly around room temperature and the room being a little over-full at the party peak.

I agree that the room was over-crowed at the middle of the party, but I think it was only for about an hour or so. I did turn away any late attempts to RSVP. So, I think we’re getting better at managing the crowd.

The temperature was a problem (again). The A/C was on max, but there were just too many people in the room. Each person generates a certain amount of heat. A tiny hotel A/C unit can’t keep up. I think the solution is to only have parties in the winter; or at least avoid the hottest months.

As far as “interacting” with others… people that played the most are those that initiated with neighbors.

I actually love negative feedback because it helps me learn what to do differently next time. The only thing better is feedback during the party… so I can fix problems right away. (hint, hint!)
